Flash BIOS recovery
FLASH BIOS RECOVERY is used to recover from a failed flash BIOS upgrade. This is only possible if your motherboard has the 'recovery BIOS' jumper feature and the upgrade flash BIOS diskette contains the recovery software file.
The Flash BIOS recovery is a very small BIOS software routine recorded into a non-erasable area on the flash BIOS chip. This routine provides just enough of a routine to move some 'recovery software' (minimum BIOS to operate the computer) from the upgrade diskette in drive A into the Flash 'Boot Block' memory of the Flash BIOS chip. Because the recovery BIOS is only concerned with the movement of the recovery software, only speaker and drive A routines will be configured and utilized. This means that nothing else on the computer will work during this procedure. When the recovery BIOS has completed the transfer, the computer can be rebooted and the BIOS upgrade can again be attempted.
